Ricky Hatton remains open to the possibility of fighting British rival Amir Khan in the future.
No decision on ring return
Ricky Hatton remains open to the possibility of fighting WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan in the future.
Hatton, 30, has yet to decide if he will return to the ring following a second-round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao last May.
If the Manchester fighter does decide to extend his career, an all-British world title showdown with Bolton's Khan provides a mouth-watering option.
Hatton, however, says any bout with Khan would have to be promoted by himself.
"It's been well documented over the years the problems I have had with Frank Warren (Khan's promoter)," Hatton told
Sky Sports News.
"It would be a non-starter unless I promoted it. In business terms it's not even a starting point if Frank is going to promote it - because of the differences we've had.
"I'm not saying it's never going to happen. It all depends on whether I choose to fight again or whether I don't.
"If six, eight, 12 months go by and then I do decide to fight again - and Amir's the champion - then obviously it is a possibility."
