Big fight could be dead in the water

Matthew Hatton's fight with Zab Judah on September 19 is in doubt after the American wanted it to take place at light-welterweight. Hatton, who has spent his entire career at welterweight, will not move down 7lb to accomodate Judah, who was once the undisputed world champion at the higher weight. The bout, which is due to take place on the Floyd Mayweather v Juan Manuel Marquez undercard, has already been postponed once when the original card was called off after Mayweather picked up a rib injury. And Hatton's brother and promoter Ricky insists they are happy to look elsewhere if Judah turns his back on the deal. "They are trying to move the goalposts because they know Matthew is a welterweight," Ricky told the Manchester Evening News. "To me they are being a little bit amateurish. "And maybe he isn't as confident as he sounds...now they have offered the same deal but at a different weight. "So we are not going to wait around forever. There are plenty of other options...there's a possible IBO fight against Lovemore N'Dou or a WBA welterweight chance."
