Billy Joe Saunders says he will mark his 'dream' debut at the York Hall by knocking out Alex Spitko on Friday Fight Night.
My York Hall dream won't be dashed, says Billy Joe
Billy Joe Saunders is ready to fulfil a boxing dream in fitting style.
The Hatfield traveller makes his debut at the home of the sport, York Hall, on Friday against seasoned journeyman Alex Spitko - live on
Sky Sports.
It will be Saunders' fourth fight since turning professional and his first away from fellow Olympic fighters James DeGale and Frankie Gavin.
But he has always wanted to parade his skills among the traditonal surroundings of the Bethnal Green venue and says he will mark the occasion with a knockout performance.
"I've always dreamt about fighting at York Hall as a professional, and it's fantastic to be getting an opportunity to do so," he told
frankwarren.tv. "I don't think the fans will be going home disappointed.
"Spitko looks a dangerous fighter and he's mixed in good company. He'll be coming to knock me out because I'm getting the big build-up and I went to the Olympics.
"I really hope that he does come with that attitude because it will bring out the best in me.
"I've looked at his record and he has beaten four prospects, two of them in the first round, so I can't take him lightly at all.
"But I've stopped my first three opponents and I'm looking for another KO victory on Friday night."
