Doncaster fighter collapses after gruelling loss in Bolton
Light-middleweight Jason Rushton is out of a coma and on the road to recovery.
The Doncaster fighter is off medication and talking following an operation to relieve swelling on his brain at the weekend.
Rushton, 26, collapsed in his dressing room at the Bolton Arena after being stopped seconds from the end of his Central Area title clash with Brian Rose on Friday night.
He was taken to hospital where tests revealed there was no blood clot, but a slight tear and bleeding to the brain tissue.
He was then operated on and placed in a controlled, drug-induced coma by doctors.
Rushton's recovery was sufficient enough for him to be taken out of the coma and by Monday night, he was taken off the medication.
