WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto tipped the scales a pound heavier than rival Manny Pacquiao ahead of the duo's eagerly-anticipated showdown in Las Vegas on Sunday morning.
The Puerto Rican weighed in at 145 pounds in front of a huge crowd of around 5,000 fight fans at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the venue for the fight itself.
Challenger Pacquiao, returning to the ring for the first time since his memorable demolition of Ricky Hatton in the same arena six months ago, took to the scales first to raucous cheers from the Filipinos in attendance.
Looking supremely relaxed, the 30-year-old weighed in at 144 pounds, while rival Cotto looked noticeably more intense as he proved just a pound heavier.
There was a very brief, angry exchange between Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach and the Cotto camp after the Puerto Rican got off the scales, but order was maintained and both fighters subsequently addressed the crowd in their native languages.
Indeed, there was a healthy respect between the two fighters themselves and they exchanged handshakes before departing the stage.
Pacquiao will be bidding to win a major title in a sixth different weight division when he challenges Cotto having previously won recognised belts at fly, super-bantam, super-feather and lightweight.
