British champion handed new opponent after Sexton withdraws

Unbeaten Derek Chisora will take on Danny Williams for the British heavyweight title after Sam Sexton pulled out through injury. Commonwealth champion Sexton was due to challenge Williams on February 13 but has suffered a hand injury in training. It means Chisora, who was close to fighting Williams last year, steps up from a clash with Matt Skelton on the same card to take on the veteran. Finchley-based 'Del Boy' is undefeated in 11 fights and is likely to be Williams' last opponent after the 36-year-old admitted he was 'shot'. Williams has lost two of his three last fights and has looked a shadow of the man who stopped Mike Tyson in 2004. However, the match represents a significant step up in class for Chisora, whose only previous claim to fame is a stoppage victory over Sexton in 2008. On the same bill, British and Commonwealth champion Nathan Cleverly will challenge for the European light-heavyweight title against Antonio Brancalion. The bout replaces Kell Brook's WBO world title eliminator against Poland's Krzysztof Bienias, which will now take place on March 13 in Liverpool. The undercard also sees the return of James DeGale and Frankie Gavin, although Billy Joe Saunders will be absent after failing to recover from a hand injury.
