Wladimir Klitschko will defend his IBF and WBO heavyweight titles against Alexander Povetkin on September 11, it has been confirmed. With Klitschko's proposed fight with David Haye later this year not materialising, the 34-year-old will instead take on the undefeated Russian at the Commerzbank Arena, the home of Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. "Povetkin is a very strong opponent -- that we are both Olympic champions speaks for itself," said the Ukrainian. "It will be a tough fight, but for me there are no doubts that I will keep my titles." Povetkin - the mandatory challenger - was a latecomer to the professional ranks after taking gold at the Athens Olympics in 2004, but has won 19 successive bouts with 14 coming inside the distance. "The Frankfurt Arena is a magnificent stadium," said Klitschko's manager Bernd Bonte. "I am very happy that we were able to organise this contest which is the very pinnacle. "Wladimir is thrilled at the idea of fighting in this stadium and in front of a terrifically supportive crowd."
