Binman breaks up camp with Portugal trip

Rendall Munroe is undergoing a week's altitude training in Portugal in preparation for the WBC super-bantamweight title defence on October 24. Munroe and his team will travel to Tokyo 12 days before the fight in order to acclimatise but promoter Frank Maloney wants the Leicester binman to get an early taste of life at altitude. "The air in Tokyo is quite thin and the steep hills where we are will aid him," said Maloney. "It is a hard training camp he is having in England and the change of routine will be doing him good. "The training here will take his fitness to another level and he is already in magnificent shape. "He is such a cool customer and his laid back style reminds me of Lennox Lewis. He takes everything in his stride. "This is one fight he can win and I can see a unification fight against IBF champion Steve Molitor down the line." Champion Toshiaki Nishioka will be making his fifth defence of the title against the former European and Commonwealth champion.
