Cuban exile desperate to get Klitschko back in the ring
Odlanier Solis says he would box Vitali Klitschko again for free following his first round stoppage loss earlier this month.
The Cuban exile was rocked by a right hand to the temple late in the round as Klotschko began another defence of his WBC heavyweight title.
However, Solis ruptured knee ligaments as he crumpled to the canvas, and was unable to continue with the referee awarding a technical knockout.
But Solis, who underwent surgery on the ligament damage last week, has said he would have 'taken him apart' had he not been stopped by the injury.
"I've seen how easy it is to defeat Vitali," said the 31-year-old. "If the injury had not got in the way, I would have taken him apart. He is a boxing zero, I was surprised at how weak he is."
Solis, who earned a reported $1.5m for his three minutes against Klitschko, is almost certain to have missed his big chance though, as he will require a second operation in April and will not be seen in the ring for up to seven months.
"I hope that Vitali is man enough to give me a re-match," he added. "Let's fight again in Cologne. Those who paid a lot of money to see the first fight can get in for free.
"I don't need to earn any money from this fight, I just want your belt!"
Klitschko will almost certainly have moved on by the time Solis is fit again. He is standing by to fight David Haye in the summer if his brother Wladimir is not fit enough, and is also slated to take on Tomasz Adamek in Poland later this year, in what could be his swansong.
