England Women squad for 2016 ICC World Twenty20:
Charlotte Edwards
- Playing in her fifth ICC WWT20
- She is the most-capped T20I player in the world and also the first woman to score 2,000 runs in Twenty20 International cricket
- England's captain since 2006 and named 2012 ICC Women's World T20 Player of the Series
- She led England to the 2009 ICC Women's World T20 and 2009 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup titles, as well as four Women's Ashes triumphs
- Scored 462 runs in 15 matches for the Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash league, including four half centuries
Tamsin Beaumont
- Sarah Taylor's wicket-keeping understudy at the 2012 World Twenty20 and the 2013 World Cup
- After a stunning tour of Sri Lanka with the England Women's Academy, which saw her hit nearly 300 runs at 74.75 as captain, she was recalled for the 2014 World T20
- Played five matches in the tournament but struggled with the bat, scoring just ten runs
Katherine Brunt
- In 2009 she played an integral role as England won the World Cup and World Twenty20, earning the match award in the final of the latter with figures of 3-6 at Lord's
- Took 5-22 in an ODI against India at Bangalore in February 2010 and was short-listed for the ICC women's player of the year.
- Missed the 2014 Women's World T20 with a back injury
Tash Farrant
- Playing in her first ICC WWT20
- At just 17, the Sevenoaks School student was elevated to the England Women's Academy programme for 2013
- Born in Greece and also lived in Italy and Singapore
Lydia Greenway
- One of the finest fielders in the women's game and an integral part of England's middle-order batting
- Hit her first T20 international fifty in September 2012 against India and then helped England finish runners-up at ICC WWT20 2012 and third at the 2013 World Cup in India
- Hit a stunning 80 not out in the second T20 international against Australia in 2013 - then the highest score by an England player in the format - as England regained the Ashes
Rebecca Grundy
- Burst on to the international scene at ICC WWT20 2014 in Bangladesh
- Made her England debut in her country's group opener and went on to play in all six of England's matches at the tournament, taking six wickets
- Took two wickets in her two T20I matches against Australia in the summer of 2015 but couldn't help England win the Ashes
Jenny Gunn
- Having been appointed vice-captain in June 2010, she led England in their second T20 versus Sri Lanka in Colombo that November as the tourists completed a series victory
- Took her maiden five-wicket haul in T20 cricket during a tri-series match against New Zealand on the tour of the West Indies in October 2013
- She claimed her maiden five-wicket haul in Test matches against India in the summer of 2014, returning 5-19 before hitting an unbeaten 62 in defeat
Amy Jones
- She earned her first cap at senior international level during the 2013 World Cup in India, where she made 41 in the group-stage defeat to Sri Lanka.
- After helping England retain the Ashes in Australia, she was a regular in the side as England finished runners-up in the World T20 in 2014
- Hit an unbeaten 155 for England Women's Academy against Australia in the summer of 2015
Heather Knight
- Played six matches in ICC WWT20 2014, topping England's batting averages with 101 runs at 33.66
- Named player of the series in the 2013 Women's Ashes after striking 157 in the Test at Wormsley and a further 140 runs in the limited-overs matches.
- Played 15 matches for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash League, hitting 363 runs and taking 17 wickets
Danielle Hazell
- She is England's leading wicket-taker in this form of the game with 68 scalps
- Took 4-12 in a T20 international with the West Indies at Hove in September 2012, and helped England finish runners-up at the World T20 in Sri Lanka
- Played a prominent role, often opening the bowling, as England finished runners-up in ICC T20 2014
Natalie Sciver
- Born in Japan
- She excelled with the ball in the October 2013 tour to the West Indies, taking a hat-trick against New Zealand
- She shone again with the ball in ICC WWT20 where she took 10 wickets in England's second-placed finish.
- Scored 47 and took a career-best 4-15 against Australia in the Twenty20 International at Cardiff in 2015
- Represented Melbourne Stars in the Women's Big Bash League, scoring 154 runs and taking 18 wickets
Anya Shrubsole
- Helped England to World Cup glory in March 2009 but missed their triumphant World Twenty20 campaign in June that year with a back injury.
- On the early 2012 tour of New Zealand she took 5-11, the best T20 figures by an England woman, in the opening T20I
- Took 13 wickets in ICC Women's World Cup 2013 and took another 13 wickets at ICC WWT20 2014
Sarah Taylor
- Helped England win ICC WWT20 2009, making 50 not out versus India in the latter where she also made a crucial stumping and took two catches in the final.
- In 2012 she was named ICC women's T20I cricketer of the year in September
- Represented Adelaide Strikers in the Women's Big Bash League, scoring 393 runs and making 17 dismissals
Georgia Elwiss
- An MCC Young Cricketer in 2010 and 2011, she represented Staffordshire before being taken on by Sussex
- She was player of the series for her economical ODI bowling versus India in the summer of 2012 and played one game at the 2013 World Cup in India
- Impressed with the bat in South Africa in early 2016, scoring 61 in the third ODI at Johannesburg
Danielle Wyatt
- Took 4-11 against South Africa in her only appearance in ICC WWT20 2010
- Helped England finish runners-up at the World T20 in Sri Lanka and, in early 2013, she added a third-placed finish at the World Cup in India
- After missing out on the 2014 World T20, she returned to face South Africa after back-to-back half-centuries for the academy that summer
