Eoin Morgan believes the helmet he was wearing when he was hit on the head during this summer's ODI series against Australia "probably" saved his life.
The England batsman was struck on the side of head, during the fifth and final contest at Old Trafford, as he tried to avoid a bouncer from fast bowler Mitchell Starc.
The ball struck him at 90 mph, with Morgan taking no further part in the match due to concussion.
The 29-year-old Ireland-born player told Sky Sports News HQ: "I feel incredibly lucky, considering the position I was in.
"The medical staff were excellent in dealing with the situation. I am now fully fit and raring to get back into it.
"The ball hit the softest part of the helmet but the helmet did its job and probably saved my life. But there was no way I could have batted on."
