Scotland were frustrated by bad weather in Hong Kong, where the first day of their Intercontinental Cup match was washed out.

Overnight rain left the Mong Kok ground in Kowloon saturated and play was called off in mid-afternoon after a series of inspections.

Hong Kong are currently fourth in the table, seven points above Scotland, who are still searching their first win in the tournament after a draw and a defeat in their opening two matches.

The weather forecast remains poor for the remainder of the four-day fixture.

The winner of the tournament - which features the leading associate members of the ICC - will play four five-day matches against the bottom ranked Test nation in the 2018 ICC Test Challenge.
