Dean Elgar has agreed to return to Somerset this season.

The South Africa opener had a brief spell in Taunton in 2013 as Alviro Petersen's replacement but goes back this year as the county's main overseas player.

Elgar will be available for all three formats, although he is likely to be named in the South Africa squad for the Test series with England which begins in July.

"I really enjoyed my time at Somerset back in 2013 and I'm looking forward to going back," he said. "The club is in a really good place at the moment and I'm pleased that I'm going to be a part of that.
