Sussex appoint former England international Michael Yardy as batting coach

Former England international Michael Yardy has been appointed Sussex's new batting coach after scoring more than 10,000 first-class runs for the county.
The 36-year-old, who retired from professional cricket after two decades at the end of the 2015 season, has been handed the task of schooling the club's batsmen from the junior ranks through to the first team after a successful spell as head coach of the U17s.
Yardy told Sussex's official website: "Having spent the whole of my playing career at Sussex, it was always going to be exciting to come back and help this talented team push forward.
"The time away has allowed me to focus on other areas, which I believe will allow me to offer something different to what is already a strong coaching staff."
A member of the England side which claimed T20 World Cup glory in 2010, Yardy battled clinical depression during his playing career and is currently in the final year of a sports psychology degree at Chichester University.
