Hosts New Zealand kicked off the Under-19 World Cup with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over defending champions Windies at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Finn Allen (115no) and Jakob Bhula (83) put on 163 for the second wicket as New Zealand topped Windies' 233-8 in just 39.3 overs in Group A. NZ v WINDIES SCORECARD
Windies made a bright start to their innings with Keagan Simmons (92no) and Kimani Melius (78) sharing an opening stand of 123 but the home team fought back thanks to Rachin Ravindra (3-30) and Matthew Fisher (3-61).

Zimbabwe coasted past Papua New Guinea in Group B, recording a thumping 10-wicket win after trumping their opponents' 95 all out with 36 overs in reserve.

Rohail Nazir struck 81 from the top of the order for Pakistan but his team stumbled from 111-2 to 188 all out, before Afghanistan secured victory in the 48th over.
Afghanistan were in a spot of bother at 50-3 but Darwish Rasooli stroked an unbeaten 76 to ensure his team got off to a winning start.
