Aga and Varaiya omitted from World Cup squad

Ragheb Aga and Hiren Varaiya have been left out of Kenya's 15-man World Cup squad. Former Sussex seam bowler Aga and experienced left-spinner Varaiya have paid the price for the disappointing recent tour of India, during which Kenya failed to win a match. Brothers James and Shem Ngoche have, however, made the cut - as has former captain Steve Tikolo, who skippered his country to the World Cup semi-final back in 2003. Jimmy Kamande will lead the side at the 50-over showpiece in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka from February 19 to April 2. Kenya are drawn in Group A alongside Australia, Canada, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Kenya squad: Jimmy Kamande (capt), Seren Waters, Alex Obanda, David Obuya (wkt), Collins Obuya, Steve Tikolo, Tanmay Mishra, Rakep Patel, Morris Ouma (wkt), Thomas Odoyo, Nehemiah Odhiambo, Elijah Otieno, Peter Ongondo, Shem Ngoche, James Ngoche
