Derbyshire have received planning permission from Derby City Council to begin the first stage of development at The 3aaa County Ground.

The Gateway Centre area of the ground will become a cricket centre of excellence and pavilion, while work will begin at the end of the season to improve facilities in the Lund Pavilion.

Derbyshire have received a £1m grant and may secure subsequent funds for further phases of development.

“After a robust planning process, we’re delighted that work on the first phase of our redevelopment can now begin,” said Chief Executive Simon Storey.
