Rain ruins final day of Royal London One-Day Cup schedule

Wet weather across the country on Wednesday was enough to see Essex, Hampshire and Kent through to the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-finals.
Play was only possible in three of the four remaining Group B games, and none of them was finished, meaning Essex claimed a home match in the last-eight by finishing second.
Hampshire also progress while Kent's superior run-rate was just enough to see them hold off Lancashire and Warwickshire - a little revenge for the Spitfires, who were knocked out of the NatWest T20 Blast on Saturday by the Lightning.
Nottinghamshire, who were already assured of their place in the last-eight, were confirmed as group winners.
Sussex ended the campaign without a win - three of their games were abandoned - with their clash against Essex called off after only 32.3 overs of play in Hove.
The Sharks named a side without a capped player, captained by Matt Machan for the first time, and teenage batsman Philip Salt scored 22 on his debut at the top of the order.
Australia international George Bailey was unbeaten on 48 when the rain arrived with the score on 154-3, having put on 74 for the fourth wicket with wicketkeeper Callum Jackson (34).
Warwickshire needed help to make it into the last eight, and they got absolutely none with their clash against Kent washed out without a ball being bowled.
The Bears had to win their final group game and hope results elsewhere went their way, but persistent rain at Edgbaston meant head groundsman Gary Barwell was thwarted in trying to even get the game underway.
It was a similar story at Emirates Old Trafford, where only 8.4 overs were possible as Lancashire's pivotal clash with Glamorgan ended with the counties taking one point apiece.
The Lightning needed a win to have any chance of progressing, but were unable to complete even a 20-over game after making a late start.
Ashwell Prince smashed four fours and two sixes in a 26-ball knock of 28 and Karl Brown added 29, but the rain returned with the score on 68-0 and no more play was possible.
A little more play was possible at Trent Bridge, where Nottinghamshire sprinted to 256-3 in 39 overs against Hampshire before the heavens opened.
Dan Christian was the chief destroyer, hitting four fours and five sixes in a powerful innings of 72 off only 48 balls.
Riki Wessels scored 81 at a more leisurely pace at the top of the innings, while Alex Hales scored 58 off 56 balls and James Taylor (25no) and Brendan Taylor (10no) were building another partnership before the weather intervened.
Quarter-final draw:
Surrey v Kent
Gloucestershire v Hampshire
Nottinghamshire v Durham
Essex v Yorkshire
