Nottinghamshire moved up to second in Specsavers County Championship Division One with a thumping 301-run victory over defending champions Essex.
Having been set 441 to win, Essex began the final day at Chelmsford on 88-4 and it soon got worse as Matt Milnes and Luke Fletcher dismissed Ravi Bopara and nightwatchman Jamie Porter within the first minutes of play.
Harry Gurney then bowled Simon Harmer and Adam Wheater in quick succession, Milnes (4-44) removed Matt Coles and Samit Patel (2-1) had Neil Wagner caught to seal the win before lunch, Essex all out for 139.
Ed Barnard ended with nine wickets in the match as Worcestershire claimed their first Championship victory of the season, beating Lancashire by 202 runs at New Road. WORCS v LANCASHIRE SCORECARD
The away side provided stubborn resistance in the morning session and, chasing 602, moved to within 250 of a most improbable win with five wickets in hands.
England opener Keaton Jennings (177) was holding the innings together but he was bowled by a delivery that kept low just before lunch and the last four wickets fell quickly after the interval with Barnard (4-95) mopping up the tail.
Hampshire and Yorkshire's day-night game at the Ageas Bowl ended in a draw, with Yorkshire safely batting out the day to a score of 263-6, a lead of 170, when the two captains decided to shake hands. HANTS v YORKS SCORECARD
In Division Two, Kent survived a scare to beat Warwickshire by 73 runs at Tunbridge Wells and cut the gap to the league leaders to just eight points. KENT V WARKS SCORECARD
Beginning day four on 229-1, Warwickshire brought up the 300 still only one wicket down as they went in search of a record 519 to win. The second wicket partnership between Ian Bell (172) Dominic Sibley (104) stretched to 260 before Harry Podmore (4-84) removed Sibley with 304 on the board.
Jonathan Trott was dismissed in Podmore's next over and when Bell was lbw to Ivan Thomas with 183 still needed, Warwickshire's hopes were dwindling. Adam Hose made 65 but he was one of three wickets for Joe Denly (3-24) as Kent finished the job in the evening session.
No 9 James Harris scored an unbeaten 58 as Middlesex chased down 381 to beat Leicestershire by one wicket in a thrilling game at Grace Road. LEICS v MIDDLESEX SCORECARD
Leicestershire appeared to have the upper hand at the start of the final day with Middlesex 82-3. However, Stevie Eskinazi's 97 and 80 from Hilton Cartwright took the visitors with sight of victory but they were still 38 short of their target when the latter fell with just two wickets remaining.
Harris led the way as the lower order whittled down the runs required and although Steven Finn was dismissed with seven needed, Harris held his nerve and sealed the win with a boundary.
Derbyshire held on with two wickets remaining to secure a draw against Glamorgan at Swansea. GLAMORGAN v DERBYSHIRE SCORECARD
Usman Khawaja (126) and Kiran Carlson (152) both hit centuries earlier in the day as Glamorgan declared on 403-7 to set Derbyshire 325 to win.
Chasing it down was never a realistic possibility and even batting out for a draw appeared unlikely as Derbyshire slipped to 93-6.
Michael Hogan (4-43) took another two wickets as Glamorgan closed in on victory. However, Tony Palladino (30no) and Duanne Olivier (6no) batted out the final 14.3 overs of the day to earn a share of the points.
