Lancashire batsman Liam Livingstone reportedly needed around 20 stitches after being glassed in a Kent pub on Saturday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in the Auction House Bar in Ashford in the hours after Lancashire secured their place at NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day in Canterbury.
Livingstone, 22, was reported to have blood streaming down his face when police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene.
Lancashire are looking into the incident, and Kent police issued their own statement on Monday morning.
It read: "Officers attended the Auction House Bar in New Street, Ashford. It was reported that a man in his 20s had been assaulted and sustained a head injury. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident."
A spokesman for Lancashire said: “LCCC is aware of an incident that took place on Saturday evening involving some of our players.
“The matter is currently being investigated by the police and nobody from the club will be making any further comment at this stage.”
