Left-hander to end eight-year association with Foxes

Leicestershire have announced that wicketkeeper Tom New will be leaving the county at the end of November. New, who represented England at Under-19 level, will end his eight-year spell at Grace Road having made 95 first-class appearances. The 26-year-old left-hander has scored more than 4,000 runs and has also picked up five wickets with the ball. However, he has seen his first-team opportunities limited by the presence of the now-retired Paul Nixon. "Leicestershire County Cricket Club wishes to announce that it has reached an agreement with wicketkeeper Tom New which will see Tom leaving the club in November," the county said on their website. "The club thanks Tom for his services over the past eight years and wishes him well for the future." The Foxes revealed earlier this month that Martin van Jaarsveld has retired from county cricket and will not be joining them for the 2012 season.
