Pakistan batsman fails to agree terms at Grace Road

Leicestershire have given up hope of signing Mohammad Yousuf for the 2012 season. The Foxes were in talks with the former Pakistan batsman about becoming the county's overseas player in the County Championship. However, they were unable to reach an agreement with the 37-year-old, who represented Warwickshire last year and last played for his country in November 2010. Chief executive Mike Siddall said: "We have been in talks for several weeks but unfortunately a problem arose this week which, between us, we could not solve. "We are disappointed and are now looking at other options." Leicestershire have already secured the return of Abdul Razzaq to defend their Friends Life t20 title next season.
