Umpire Aleem Dar will take no further part in the on-going ODI series between India and South Africa.
The Pakistan-born former first-class cricketer has been withdrawn following an incident on Monday in Mumbai, where a group the ICC described as "extremists" stormed the offices of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and threatened to prevent the umpire from standing in the final two ODIs.
Thus, the ICC have opted to de-select Dar from the panel of umpires for the fourth and fifth matches which take place in Chennai and Mumbai on Thursday, October 22 and Sunday, October 25 respectively.
A statement by the world's governing body for cricket reads: "Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities.
"As such, he has been withdrawn and his replacement will be announced in due course."
The 47-year-old Dar has stood in more than 300 international fixtures since 2000 and was involved in the first three ODIs between Indian and South Africa in the current series - the most recent on Sunday in Rajkot.
