Mohammad Yousuf marked his return to action with 40 not out on a rain-shortened opening day of Pakistan's tour match against Worcestershire.
Only 28.1 overs were possible during which Pakistan reached 112-2, with veteran Yousuf - who has been flown in mid-tour to stiffen his country's batting line-up - hitting eight fours in a 54-ball contribution.
Pakistan, who trail England 2-0 in the Test series and must win at the Oval next week to keep alive their hopes of salvaging a share of the four-match rubber, were largely frustrated in their efforts to gain match practice on the first of two days at New Road.
After the visitors had won the toss, play was due to get under way at 1.30pm with 78 overs scheduled to be bowled. A further shower, however, resulted in the covers being put back in place, delaying the start for another hour.
Yasir Hameed and Azhar Ali opened the innings and Ali received an early let-off when he was put down in the gully by David Wheeldon off left-arm paceman Jack Shantry while on 10.
Ali, however, failed to make the most of his lucky escape and soon afterwards a throw by Alexei Kervezee led to him being run out for 19 after finding himself at the same end as Hameed, who was then joined by Umar Amin (21no).
Hameed fell on 27 when he was snapped up by Vikram Solanki at first slip off Chris Russell's third delivery. The 21-year-old seamer, who is making his first-team debut, had seen his previous delivery to Hameed dropped low down to his left by Moeen Ali at third slip.
Hameed's departure heralded the arrival of Yousuf, whose appearance was temporarily interrupted by rain when he was two not out after facing just ten balls.
Worcestershire are being led by Daryl Mitchell after Solanki stood down after more than five years in charge following a 241-run loss to Glamorgan the previous day.
