Sri Lanka batsman Angelo Mathews celebrated reaching his century in the first Test against New Zealand in Wellington with a set of press-ups.
The 31-year-old was dropped as captain of his side's one-day international team and then left out of the limited-overs team against England in September on fitness grounds.
However, after Sri Lanka resumed day four 20-3 and staring at the possibility of a hefty defeat, Mathews and Kusal Mendis batted out a wicketless day four to take the visitors to 259-3.
Mathews battled through the penultimate day of the Test to reach three figures off 248 balls, having struck 11 fours, bringing up his ninth red-ball hundred and finished the day unbeaten on 117.
Meanwhile, Mendis had an equally successful day at the crease - earning his own unbeaten century - finishing on 116 to leave Sri Lanka end the day trailing by just 37 runs.
