National selectors have to pick final 15 before January 19

Alok Kapali, who hasn't played international cricket since 2008, has been included in Bangladesh's preliminary squad for next year's World Cup. The all-rounder's last appearance for his country came against Australia in Darwin before he joined the exodus to the Indian Cricket League. Kapali has since severed ties with the ICL and has been named in a 30-man party, along with inexperienced seamer Dolar Mahmud, 21. There are no other surprises in the initial list; the selectors have understandably stuck with the majority of players that have helped them to recent series wins over New Zealand and Zimbabwe. All teams competing in the World Cup have to cut their lists of 30 down to a final squad of 15 by January 19. Bangladesh play in the opening match of the tournament, taking on fellow hosts India at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 19. They will also come up against England, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa and West Indies in Group B, with four teams progressing through. Bangladesh's preliminary squad for World Cup:
