Former skipper back in favour for tri-nation T20 series

Bangladesh have recalled former captain Mohammad Ashraful for the hastily-arranged tri-nation series in Zimbabwe next month. Ashraful last played for Bangladesh in December in the home series against Pakistan but was in good form for Dhaka Gladiators in the recent Bangladesh Premier League. Batsman Zunaed Siddique was also recalled to a squad which includes uncapped pair Ziaur Rahman and Abul Hasan. "Ashraful and Zunaed were always under consideration. They just need to show some consistent performances which they did in BPL," chief selector Akram Khan said. Left-handed opener Imrul Kayes is a notable absentee from the 15-man squad which will be led by Mushfiqur Rahim, with new coach Richard Pybus taking over off the field for the first time. Bangladesh were added to what was originally a five-match T20 series between the hosts and South Africa from June 17 to 24.
