Under-19 World Cup: India retain 100 per cent record; Australia poised to face England

India cemented top spot in Group B in the Under-19 World Cup as a 10-wicket thrashing of Zimbabwe maintained the three-time champions' 100 per cent record.

Shubman Gill (90no of 59) and Harvik Desai (56 off 73) powered India past Zimbabwe's 154 all out in just 24.1 overs, Gill lashing 14 fours and a six at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. IND v ZIM SCORECARD

India - for whom left-arm spinner Anukul Roy bagged 4-20 from 7.1 overs - crushed Australia by 100 runs in their opening fixture, before beating Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets.

Prithvi Shaw's side are now likely to face Bangladesh in their quarter-final on January 26, though they could yet face England if Harry Brook's side falter against Canada in their final Group B fixture.

England are two from two following victories over Namibia and Bangladesh and will top the group and set up a meeting with Group B runners-up Australia if they beat Canada in Queenstown on Saturday.

Australia will head into their last-eight encounter on the back of a 311-run hammering of Papua New Guinea - Jason Sangha's side racking up 370-8 before skittling their opponents for just 59. AUS v PNG SCORECARD

Nathan McSweeney (156), Sangha (88) and Param Uppal (61) were in the runs for Australia, while seamer Jason Ralston was the star with the ball, taking 7-15, the second-best figures in youth ODIs after Irfan Pathan's 9-16 for India against Bangladesh in 2003.
