Chris Taylor has returned to Headingley to join his first club Yorkshire once again after leaving Derbyshire last week at his own request. Taylor still had a year left on his Derbyshire contract when he asked to leave the club last week, and he has now returned to Yorkshire. The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Headingley and has now signed a three-year deal to return to his first club. The England Under-17 and Under-19 international initially left Yorkshire because of a lack of first-team opportunities but found the same problem this year at Derby. After playing just four first-class matches with Derbyshire this year he asked to be released from his contract 12 months early, and is now happy to be back at Yorkshire. "I am really delighted to be coming back to the club where I played as a youngster," said Taylor. "I feel that my game has improved considerably since my last spell here and I'm looking forward to contributing in four-day and one-day cricket. "I really like the atmosphere and ambition that is obvious at Yorkshire now and I'm excited at the prospect of working with Martyn Moxon, (captain) Darren Gough and Kevin Sharp, the batting coach." Stewart Regan, Yorkshire chief executive, said: "We're all really pleased to see Chris Taylor back at Headingley. "Chris is a player who provides us with many options and he is capable of scoring a lot of runs."
