Paul Collingwood insists England must maintain their momentum after recording a second Twenty20 victory over New Zealand on Thursday.
The captain led by example with a superb half-century as his team made 193-8 batting first in Christchurch.
England then restricted the Kiwis to 143-8 in reply to secure a 50-run victory and their fourth of the tour, including the two warm-up matches.
And with five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Tests to come from Saturday, the Durham all-rounder is keen to see his side press home their advantage.
Work
"Obviously it's a great start for us we can take a lot of confidence out of these games. We haven't played great Twenty20 cricket in the past," he told
Sky Sports 1.
"All the players did their jobs really, really well. We posted two good totals and we defended really well and you can't ask for any more from the players.
"There's plenty of positives in the side. We've been putting a lot of hard work in behind the scenes.
"Obviously it's only a start, we've got five really important games coming up now and we want to continue with this form."
Future
Collingwood believes England can now go on to prove themselves as one of the world's top one-day teams.
"The bowlers have been fantastic for the last few months," he added. "The way they bowled against India in the one-day series and then went down to Sri Lanka in foreign conditions and on wickets that they are not used to and adapted really well.
"As a unit they're really learning quickly for a young set of lads and that's exciting for the future.
"It's all been about the team. It was important we got a couple of wins under our belt, winning's a habit and we want to carry it on from here."
England are off to Wellington's Westpac Stadium next for the first one-dayer.
