Notts seamer the only change for hosts

Ryan Sidebottom returns in the only change to England's starting XI for the first one-day international against New Zealand at the Riverside on Sunday. The left-arm seamer was rested for Friday's Twenty20 international win over the Black Caps but has been recalled in place of Dimitri Mascarenhas. Andrew Strauss, who was called up into the squad on Saturday as temporary cover for Alastair Cook (shoulder), is surplus to requirements, meaning Ian Bell and Luke Wright will once again open the batting. New Zealand opted to hand a one-day international debut to Tim Southee and also drafted in wicketkeeper Gareth Hopkins, at the ground on which he made his international bow four years ago. Hopkins' inclusion allowed Brendon McCullum to play as a specialist batsman. Having lost by nine wickets at Old Trafford in the solitary 20-over contest, the Kiwis axed batsman Peter Fulton and pace bowler Mark Gillespie, while all-rounder Jacob Oram remains sidelined by a hamstring injury. Play starts at the Riverside at 1045h (BST), join skysports.com for over-by-over commentary or watch live on Sky Sports 1.
