Rebuilding delays prompt decision

Rawalpindi has been shelved as a venue for India's tour of Pakistan due to delays in renovating the city's stadium. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was scheduled to host the second Test from January 21-25 and the third one-day international on February 11. "We will not be able to finish the renovation work that includes the relaying of the outfield," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt. "We have couple of other venues (Faisalabad and Multan) in mind and will shift the Rawalpindi matches there." India's trip to their neighbours remains subject to government clearance. The PCB has lined up the neutral venues of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai as a contingency plan. Pakistan have struggled to convince teams to visit in recent times due to security concerns. Australia postponed a scheduled tour last April, while September's Champions Trophy was also put back 12 months by the International Cricket Council.
