Pakistan name players to take on Sri Lanka
Pakistan have called up batsman Umar Amin for the upcoming three-match one-day series against Sri Lanka.
The 19-year-old left-hander has been included for the first time and could be given the opportunity to fill the void left by Mohammad Yousuf, who has quit international cricket in favour of the unofficial Indian Cricket League.
"Amin has been rewarded for his excellent performances in domestic cricket," said the Pakistan Cricket Board in a statement.
"The squad is for the first match only and teams for later matches will be announced after the first game."
Shoaib Akhtar, who was recently handed a central contract, will lead a four-man pace attack.
Karachi will host the opening game on January 21 followed by matches in Lahore (January 27) and Multan (January 29).
Sri Lanka will then return two weeks later for a two-match Test series.
Both tours will take place after Sri Lanka accepted an invitation by the PCB to fill the void left by India, who pulled out of their trip in the wake of the Mumbai bombings last month.
Squad: Shoaib Malik (captain), Khurrum Manzoor, Salman Butt, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Amin, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar, Sohail Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Arafat.
