County adopt name change ahead of new campaign

Reigning Twenty20 Cup champions Middlesex have announced that they will no longer be called Crusaders in limited-overs cricket. The southern county have inadvertently revealed that they will be known as Middlesex Panthers from the 2009 campaign onwards. The change was due to be announced at the club's pre-season press launch in mid-March, however the news came to fruition ahead of schedule. The move is thought to have come about due to Middlesex's decision last year to wear a pink kit in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer - making Shaun Udal's men now referred to as the 'Pink Panthers'.
