Bangladesh seamer sidelined by side strain

Rubel Hossain is returning home from Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe due to a side strain. Rubel is the third senior Bangladesh bowler to be struck down since the team embarked on back-to-back visits of West Indies and Zimbabwe. The seamer sustained the injury during the one-off Twenty20 international against West Indies in St Kitts on August 2. Dolar Mahmud has been called-up to replace Rubel for the final four matches of the one-day series in Zimbabwe. Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak are also currently sidelined by respective knee and hamstring problems. Mortaza limped out on the third day (July 11) of the first Test with West Indies, his first match since taking over the captaincy from Mohammad Ashraful. He has since undergone arthroscopic surgery on both knees, ruling him out for six weeks. Razzak hurt his hamstring while batting in the third one-day international in West Indies on July 31 and did not travel to Zimbabwe.
