Experienced batsman included in Champions Trophy squad

India's Rahul Dravid is set to make a return to one-day international cricket after being named in a 15-man squad for the tri-series trip to Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy in South Africa. The experienced batsman last played a ODI in October 2007, but looks set to add to his 333 appearances after impressing in the Indian Premier League earlier this year. His return has come at the expense of Rohit Sharma, who failed to take his chance during the ICC World Twenty20 tournament and endured a miserable time in the West Indies immediately afterwards. Explosive opening batsman Virender Sehwag has failed to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in the IPL and is not in the squad. Left-arm fast bowler Zaheer Khan was already ruled out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India because of a shoulder injury. But Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina - who missed the West Indies trip with injuries - both return. Selectors have also retained wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and all-rounder Abhishek Nayar - while leg-spinner Amit Mishra is picked at the expense of left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is the other specialist spinner in the side - and Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Ashish Nehra and RP Singh complete the pace attack. India squad: MS Dhoni (captain), S Tendulkar, G Gambhir, R Dravid, S Raina, Y Singh, Y Pathan, H Singh, RP Singh, A Mishra, P Kumar, I Sharma, D Karthik (wkt), A Nayar, A Nehra.
