Wayamba 118-9 v Victorian Bushrangers 103-4
Wayamba beat Victorian Bushrangers by 15 runs The Victorian Bushrangers progressed to the Super Eights at the Champions League Twenty20 despite losing by 15 runs to Wayamba in the final Group D fixture. Chasing a target of 119, Brad Hodge hit an unbeaten 44 as the Bushrangers finished short on 103-4 but, crucially, kept their net run-rate above that of their Sri Lankan opponents. All three teams in Group D finished on two points with Victoria and the Delhi Daredevils progressing to the Super Eights on net run-rate. Wayamba had struggled to 118-8 after choosing to make first use of a difficult wicket for batting at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Jeevantha Kulatunga and Michael Vandort shared an 81-run stand off 73 balls for the second wicket after Peter Siddle (1-12) had trapped Mahela Udawatte lbw for one with the 12th ball of the innings. But both Kulatunga (41) and Vandort (42) fell in the 15th over, bowled by Clint McKay (2-24), prompting a late meltdown.
