Ervine and Blignaut handed chance to impress
Zimbabwe have included uncapped middle-order batsman Craig Ervine in their 15-man squad for next month's ICC World Twenty20.
The 24-year-old, the younger brother of former national player Sean, has been rewarded for an impressive season with club side Southern Rocks, whom he averaged 35 in the first-class game and over 80 in the one-day format.
There was also a shock recall for former international Andy Blignaut - one of the players who fell out with Zimbabwe Cricket in the mid-2000s over political interference in the sport.
The 31-year-old last turned out for the country in 2005, but returns to the squad following a good showing in the local 20-over competition for Matabeleland Tuskers, for whom he averaged 37 this season.
All-rounder Greg Lamb is also retained after a satisfactory debut series against West Indies recently, but Shingi Masakadza and Stuart Matsikenyeri miss out.
The team will be led by captain Prosper Utseya.
Zimbabwe are pooled in Group B for the April 30-May 16 competition in the Caribbean, alongside New Zealand and Sri Lanka, who they face in their opening match on May 3.
Zimbabwe squad: Prosper Utseya, Brendan Taylor, Hamilton Masakadza, Tatenda Taibu, Charles Coventry, Vusimuzi Sibanda, Gregory Lamb, Elton Chigumbura, Graeme Cremer, Raymond Price, Christopher Mpofu, Tymcen Maruma, Craig Ervine, Andy Blignaut, Chamunorwa Chibhabha.
