Pakistan recall left arm quick after six year absence

Left-arm paceman Mohammad Khalil has been chosen to replace the injured Junaid Khan for Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh. Khan has been sidelined for at least six weeks after rupturing his abdominal muscle during the fifth and final one-day against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. The 21-year-old fast bowler, who has become an key member of Pakistan's test and ODI teams since making his debut against West Indies in April, bowled just three overs before having to leave the field. "Khalil will replace Khan in the squad for Bangladesh tour," the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Thursday. Khalil has played just two Tests for Pakistan, against Australia in 2004 and India in 2005, but failed to bag a wicket on either occasion. The 29-year-old, who made his last international appearance in 2005, has fared a little better in the shorter format, taking five wickets in three one-day internationals. He is however one of Pakistan's top wicket takers in the current first-class season with 43 and ended last season with 79 scalps to his name Pakistan will kick off the Tour with a Twenty20 match in Dhaka on Tuesday before playing three one-day internationals and two Tests. Abdul Razzaq is also doubtful for the Bangladesh tour after suffering a shoulder injury but the PCB are yet to confirm any replacement for the all-rounder.
