Gautam Gambhir's third straight half-century led Kolkata Knight Riders to a nine-wicket victory over IPL leaders Kings XI Punjab.
Gambhir, who managed one run in his first four innings of this year's tournament before rediscovering his touch, finished 63 not out from 45 balls as the Knight Riders chased down a target of 150 with two overs to spare.
The Knight Riders skipper put on 68 in seven overs with opening partner Robin Uthappa (46) and an unbroken 72 alongside Manish Pandey (36no) for the second wicket.
Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla (3-19) and seamer Morne Morkel (2-20) had earlier impressed as the Kings XI were limited to 149-8 after being sent in to bat in Cuttack.
Opener Virender Sehwag hit a 50-ball 72 but received little support from his team-mates, Wriddhiman Saha's 15 the next highest score.
The Kings XI remain top of the IPL table, above Chennai Super Kings only on net run-rate, after their second defeat in nine matches this season, while the Knight Riders move up to fourth.
