Stephen Bunting is looking for his first European tour title of the season as he begins his International Darts Open title defence this weekend in Riesa, Germany.

The reigning champion will face either Krzysztof Ratajski or Cristo Reyes in the first round, while No 1 seed and defending European champion Gian Van Veen will play Conor Scutt or Finn Behrens.

The draw also allows for a potential all-English second round matchup with No 3 seed James Wade potentially coming up against eight-time European Tour event winner Dave Chisnall early on in the competition.

The event also features a debut for 20-year-old Tour debutant Charlie Manby, who could play World Championship quarter-finalist Ryan Searle should he come through his first-round matchup with German star Niko Springer - a tie Springer's home Riesa crowd will savour.

Michael van Gerwen is also in action against Madars Razma or Gyorgy Jehirszki, while Gerwyn Price looks for a record-extending fifth International Darts Open crown against Ryan Joyce or Jeffrey Sparidaans in his European Tour return.

Josh Rock broke Gian van Veen with 121-bull finish in Night 15 of the Premier League in Birmingham.

Following the conclusion of round two, the remaining 16 players will return to battle it out from 11am BST on Sunday.

The tournament reaches its climax with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in a bumper evening session, which begins from the earlier time of 5pm.
