Jelle Klaasen wins all-Dutch clash with Raymond van Barneveld

Jelle Klaasen won the battle of the Dutchmen in Barnsley on Sunday as he beat Raymond van Barneveld 6-4 to win his second Players Championship event of 2015.

The Cobra claimed the £10,000 winner's cheque after pulling clear from Van Barneveld in the Players Championship 16 final when the scores were locked at 4-4.

Klaasen took out double 10 to claim the ninth leg before setting himself for a bullseye finish with his third 180 of the match as he ran out a 6-4 winner.

Meanwhile, Terry Jenkins celebrated his 52nd birthday in style by defeating Peter Wright 6-4 in the Players Championship 15 final on Saturday night.

Jenkins overcame Kim Huybrechts 6-4 to book his place in the final and he raced to a 4-1 lead over Wright after maintaining an average over 115 in the first five legs.

Wright hit back in leg six, but Jenkins moved 5-2 up as he put himself on the brink of victory. Wright responded, cutting the gap to 5-4, but Jenkins was too strong in the 10th leg as he sealed victory with a 108.02 average.

South African Devon Peterson sealed his place in next month's European Darts Grand Prix with a stunning nine-dart finish against James Wilson on Friday.

Also through to next month's £115,000 event is former European Tour winner Steve Beaton and former Lakeside champions Stephen Bunting and Mark Webster
