Phil Taylor hit back at Eric Bristow's claim that the 16-time World Champion was 'brain-dead' for using new darts against Kevin Painter

Phil Taylor hit back at Eric Bristow for calling him "brain-dead" in a passionate interview after his win over Kevin Painter at the World Darts Championship.

Taylor battled past his old adversary Painter at Alexandra Palace on Monday night.

In a rematch of the 2004 final which Taylor won, he repeated the trick with a 4-1 victory despite not reaching the heights of a decade ago.

When asked if he had a message for his critics, the 55-year-old responded to recent comments from Bristow, who had questioned his mental arithmetic before the tournament.
