Simon Whitlock aiming for another upset against Michael van Gerwen

Simon Whitlock has rediscovered his form behind the scenes and is aiming to ride the wave into the Grand Slam of Darts.
The popular Australian has won two consecutive Players Championships in recent weeks, adding up a pair of nine-darters alongside a notable win over world No 1 Michael van Gerwen.
With the Grand Slam rapidly approaching - you can watch live on Sky Sports from November 12 - Whitlock has revealed that he always felt this form would arrive.
"I haven't played badly all year but I haven't had the results," he told Sky Sports. "I've had a little bit of bad luck here and there, but my form has been pretty good.
"All the hard work that I've done on the dartboard at home over the past couple of years is paying off.
"The two tournaments that I won, I hit nine-darters. I've also missed three or four on the last dart. I hit a lot of nine-darters in practice at home so it's no surprise to me."
Whitlock comes up against Van Gerwen again as the European Championship kicks off this weekend, saying: "I beat him well, he knows I've been winning, and he'll feel uncomfortable."
