World No 3 Peter Wright will take on Mervyn King in the World Grand Prix second round on Wednesday but will have the added pressure of being the new tournament favourite.
Wright has a chance to follow up his UK Open success with a second major title following Sunday's defeat for Michael van Gerwen and the withdrawal of expectant father Gary Anderson.
Wright scrambled past Stephen Bunting on Monday night in a sudden-death leg and now faces King, after the 2012 World Grand Prix finalist progressed with a straight-sets defeat of Ronny Huybrechts.
Simon Whitlock claimed victory over Christian Kist in the sudden-death leg of their clash by taking out 108 to claim a last 16 spot and now takes on Dublin debutant Richard North, with the Australian having encouraged the 27-year-old to join the circuit on a full-time basis.
Gerwyn Price faces Benito van de Pas while James Wade's conqueror Steve West will take on last month's Champions League of Darts winner Mensur Suljovic.
