F1 champions Mercedes reveal W07

New Silver Arrows unveiled head of pre-season testing in Spain; New car contains "mini revolutions" according to reigning world champs

Mercedes have revealed their 2016 challenger, the W07, as they set out in search of a third consecutive championship double.

According to the team, their new car features a number of "mini revolutions" as they seek to stay ahead of the field.

The W07 was given a brief shakedown at Silverstone on Friday with both world champion Lewis Hamilton and team-mate Nico Rosberg sampling the car for the first time.

Hamilton will take the W07 for its official debut on Monday when pre-season testing starts in Barcelona.

The Silver Arrows have won 32 of the last 38 F1 races but the team's hierarchy have previously hinted the W07 would be built around an innovative design in order to rebuff the anticipated surge from Ferrari.

"While the car may look very similar to its predecessor from the outside - as is inherent within stable regulations - underneath there are quite a lot of mini revolutions that make up an overall evolution for the new season," confirmed technical chief Paddy Lowe as the team revealed the first official imagery of their new car.

A photo-call will be staged in the Circuit de Catalunya paddock on Monday morning prior to the test beginning.
