Barcelona and Silverstone confirmed for F1's in-season test schedule

Silverstone will host F1's second in-season test of 2016 on July 12-13, the week after the British Grand Prix.
The Northamptonshire venue returns to the testing schedule for the first time since 2014 for the second and final group test of the racing season. The first is at Barcelona on May 17-18.
Teams will stay on at the circuit following Sunday's grand prix on July 10, with testing taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both days will be open to members of the public.
In-season testing was outlawed completely on cost grounds at the end of the last decade but the restrictions have partially been lifted in recent seasons. In 2014, four tests were held once the racing season was underway, with two apiece in the subsequent two campaigns.
Two of the four days must be given over to young drivers who have raced in fewer than three grands prix.
The Red Bull Ring held the second in-season test last year but a repeat was not possible in 2016 after the Austrian and British GPs were scheduled back-to-back.
In a separate regulation this year, Pirelli have been allowed 12 days for tyre testing purposes as they devise their compounds for 2017's anticipated rules overhaul. The dates and structure of those sessions have yet to be set
