Frederic Vasseur upgraded to Renault boss as Cyril Abiteboul moves to UK

Renault Sport president Jerome Stoll has confirmed the F1 team are tweaking their management structure.

Frederic Vasseur has been upgraded to the title of F1 team principal and will assume responsibility of the 'performance and results of the team'.

And Cyril Abiteboul, the recognised public face of Renault's F1 activities over the last few years, will be moving to relocate from France to the UK in order to 'focus his time on the improvements that need to be made to Enstone as well as the alignment between the two sites of Viry and Enstone'.

Meanwhile, Stoll has also set out an ambitious programme of targets for the team.

"Next year we are targeting top five in the constructors' championship; the year after we want to be regularly fighting for podiums. By 2020 we want to be fighting for the championships with the best power unit and best chassis in the sport," he told the F1 official website.
