Belgian drive should inspire Lewis Hamilton to more success at Monza, says Johnny Herbert

Sky Sports F1 analyst Johnny Herbert expects Lewis Hamilton to continue his domination of the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Hamilton may have seen his lead over Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg cut to only nine points in Belgium last weekend, but he still heads to Monza full of confidence after a stunning drive at Spa.

The world champion was forced to start at the back of the field after suffering a grid penalty but still stormed through to secure a podium finish, just 27 seconds behind eventual race winner Rosberg.

Hamilton is the hot 10/11 favourite with Sky Bet to secure a hat-trick of wins at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend and Herbert can't see beyond the 31-year-old British ace at the historic Monza circuit.

Herbert said: "He's heading for a hat-trick of Monza wins and a fourth in five years, all from pole, and this week he shouldn't have any grid penalties to contend with so why wouldn't Lewis, after a top drive in Belgium, get back to winning ways here."

If Hamilton does take a fifth pole he will equal Juan Manuel Fangio and Ayrton Senna's record, and Herbert sees value in backing the Briton to complete the race hat-trick of poll, fast lap and race winner at odds of 4/1.

Johnny Herbert is backing Lewis Hamilton to complete a hat-trick at odds of 4/1

"If you agree with me that Lewis will win this weekend, then this bet has a little more value about it," explained the three-time Grand Prix race winner.

"He took the fastest lap in Belgium last weekend and broke the British record in the process, and has taken pole in Monza in the last two years so why won't he do it again this weekend?"

Herbert is confident Nico Hulkenberg will continue where he left off at Spa in securing a fourth-place finish and is tipping the Force India driver to finish in the top six at even money.

He added: "Force India have moved into fourth in the Constructors' Championship now after an excellent Spa and I think they are poised for another good weekend in Italy.

"To be honest it's a toss of a coin between the two Force India driver as to who gets my top six vote this week they are so evenly matched, but Nico just gets the nod."
