Formula 1 in 2018: New car unveilings and launch dates

Last Updated: 21/04/20 11:28am

'Launch season' for F1 2018 is already underway after Haas become the first team to unveil their new car, and many other outfits have also confirmed their unveiling dates.

Haas unexpectedly revealed pictures of their halo-equipped VF-18, with the head protection device painted black in line with the team's three-colour livery, which has been tweaked for the upcoming season.

The 2018 Williams was next with the team revealing their new car, the FW41, will be 'significantly different' to its predecessor.

On Monday, Red Bull revealed their new car, with the RB14's testing livery immediately proving a huge talking point.

Renault and Sauber revealed their 2018 challengers on Tuesday, with Sauber's first Alfa Romeo-branded livery on their C37 unveiled online, before Renault launched their new car, the RS18, a few hours later.

Mercedes and Ferrari, last year's top two in the Constructors' Championship, have both picked February 22 as the day they will reveal their respective challengers, as both teams target world title glory this year.

The new Ferrari will be unveiled online, while Mercedes' W09 will break cover for the first time at Silverstone. The world champions say the two teams have agreed to launch their cars at different times during the day so not to clash.

Similar to last year, Mercedes' new car will be driven by world champion Lewis Hamilton and team-mate Valtteri Bottas during a 'shakedown' day at the British GP venue with the W09 to be unveiled to the public online during the lunch break.

The new McLaren MCL33 will then follow on February 23 with the Woking team beginning a new era with Renault engines in 2018 after ending their failed Honda marriage.

McLaren announced their launch date via a short video on social media featuring different cars from down the decades with the message #BeBrave.

Toro Rosso will reveal their new Honda-powered STR13 on the opening morning of winter testing, February 26, at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

Following two tests in Barcelona, the racing season itself commences on March 25 with the Australian GP.
